Group (in mathematics)

Groups, moves and rules · a set of moves

created · updated

A set of moves that can be performed in a chain, one after another, and undone: there is a move “do nothing”, and every move has an inverse. The turns of a Rubik’s Cube form a group. In the game “step and lift” the moves are a step around a circle of six points (six steps in a row return to the start), a lift to a circle one floor up, and a lift down.
