Mutation testing

Testing · a deliberately broken copy

created · updated

A way to test the checks themselves: a person or an agent deliberately breaks a copy of the code or model, for example removes one condition, and sees whether tests and rules notice it. If the defect passes unnoticed, the check checks nothing. In Quint models such copies are called mutants.
